Description:
A classic North American jack knife, the Trapper, has been in production since the early 1900s and is still popular today. Originally designed for trapping and skinning tasks, this lightweight design is a solid and versatile all around cutting tool. In Rüdesheim on the Rhine, a man named Hugo Asbach created a complex and singular German brandy known today as Asbach Uralt. Aging in Limousin oak wood barrels is key to the process. After decades of storage, Boker is now using these historic Asbach barrels in a limited production Trapper, which bears the brand stamp of the famous wine distillery on both blade and handle. The Trapper Asbach Uralt comes with a stainless-steel blade and brandy barrel oak wood covers. Limited to 999 pieces worldwide.
Brand new, direct from Boker Knives, Solingen.
Blade: This single blade Trapper sports a long clip point blade of polished and tumbled 440C stainless steel with a tradition nail nick and crisp operation. The full flat grind makes this a very functional and utilitarian blade for users, while collectors will be pleased with the visual appeal of the finish and blade markings.
Handle: Mounted to brass liners with brushed nickel silver pins and bolsters the brandy barrel oak wood covers offer a warm feel with a beautiful, rustic aesthetic. Forgoing a traditional shield, the front cover has been engraved "Asbach" for the brandy that gives this Trapper its name. A stainless steel back spring delivers smooth, snappy slip joint operation. Includes high-quality felt zipper pouch and numbered certificate of authenticity.
440C Stainless Steel: The basis for many modern steels, AISI 440C offers a good balance of corrosion resistance and edge retention with relative ease of sharpening. Good all around budget stainless steel.
