Armscor is based in the Philippines, and also makes the Rock Island Armory line of 1911 pistols that you may have heard of. Armscor actually owns a foundry where they make their own brass, which helps them to keep cranking out the ammo even when the supply of raw materials is slim. The components for Armscor ammo are made in the Philippines, but the final product is loaded both in the Philippines and in Montana, here in the US.
For this review, we shot a couple of boxes of Armscor Precision 230 grain .45 ACP. The bullet is full metal jacket and the case is reloadable brass with a non-corrosive primer. We found the Armscor Precision to be soft shooting for a .45, which is consistent with its low muzzle velocity of just 830 feet per second.
The ammo ran great in all of our test guns with no feeding or reliability issues. Accuracy was not bad, and we were able to shoot a pretty good 10 shot group from the bench at 15 yards using our Springfield Armory XDM pistol. Despite being one of the less expensive brands of .45 ACP ammo that we've shot, we didn't have any problems with the Armscor Precision, and it should be great for training at the range.
