The first pull through slot features coarse carbide blades, and the second pull through slot has fine ceramic stones (800-grit). Both the carbide blades and ceramic stones are reversible and replaceable for extended use. The foldout, tapered diamond sharpening steel has a medium 400-grit, and is intended for serrated blades, though it will sharpen straight blades as well.
