Description:
A standout for its style as much for its functionality, the Platform fills a specific niche in the Kershaw lineup. Built on a detent slip joint framework, the Platform has a classy Modified Sheepsfoot blade, stainless liners and topographical GFN handle scale. The non-locking folder also holds an interesting surprise: on the back you'll find robust nail clippers with file and nail cleaner. While perfect for grooming, the nail clippers also work well for a variety of other daily tasks like cutting monofilament fishing line, zip ties and more.
Brand new, direct from Kershaw.
Blade: Matte gray blasted 8Cr13MoV stainless steel is delivered in a modified Sheepsfoot profile with a deep hollow grind and plenty of belly for slicing. The blade angle makes this a good choice for working on flat surfaces and offers a fine tip for piercing and detail work. A double detent slip joint mechanism holds the blade securely in the open and closed positions offering smooth, two-hand operation via the long pull nail nick of this non-locking folder.
Handle: Built with an easy to maintain, open back construction the topographical GFN is supported by a stainless steel liner and offers plenty of traction and a comfortable grip. The back of the handle is solid stainless steel with an integral nail clipper with file and cleaner that work as well for grooming as it does for a variety of daily utility tasks. Give it a try, and we think you will be pleasantly surprised.
No clip.
8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440B. Sharpening should be a breeze.
