Bulk - New Silver Bear 45 ACP ammunition manufactured by Barnaul (50 rounds per box, 10 boxes per case).
The Bear Ammo brand has its history dating all the way back to 1869 when Russian Emperor Alexander I ordered the opening of the first cartridge plant in St Petersburg. During the Russian Civil War the production facility was moved to the Moscow region from St Petersburg. Finally during WWII, Russia moved the factories to Barnaul in South-Central Russia to avoid the threat of losing the plants if Moscow was to be besieged by the German Forces.
The Zinc plating on this ammunition helps the casing resist corrosion and it helps make sure you get a smooth feed every time a new round chambers. You can't get a better brand-new 45 ACP cartridge at this price!.
This product has a zinc-plated steel casing, utilizes a Berdan primer, is non-corrosive and is non-reloadable.

Video Transcript:
Silver Bear ammo is manufactured at the famous Barnaul machine plant in Russia, where it's been produced since World War II. They also make all the other Bear branded ammo, like Brown Bear and Golden Bear. The names are pretty self explanatory and describe the color of the shell casings. The Silver Bear 45 ACP ammo, for example, has a distinctive shiny steel case.
While a lot of other brands of steel cased ammo are dull colored and come with a polymer coating or some kind of lacquer, Silver Bear casings are zinc coated steel, which makes any other kind of coating unnecessary.
The cases are not re-loadable, but the ammo is non-corrosive and safe to shoot in any modern 45 ACP firearm. The 230 grain bullets have a lead core with a bi-metal jacket made of steel and copper. This kind of jacket can be a little rough on certain types of targets and backstops, especially in indoor ranges.
For this reason, some ranges won't permit the use of any bullets that attract a magnet like Silver Bear. So make sure to check with your range first. We ran Silver Bear through six different pistols to check performance and function. Recoil was very soft for a 45. That makes it a good load for new shooters, or anyone who's recoil sensitive. It's also a nice, light shooting load for smaller, lightweight pistols.
Despite the lower pressure load, we didn't have any problem with reliability, and each of our guns went through at least a couple of magazines with no issues. We tested accuracy at 15 yards using a Springfield XDM. Our 10 shot group wasn't too bad, but did start to wander a little south toward the end.
It may not be the most accurate ammo available, but for the price, it still gets the job done as a casual range load. If you want to shoot a lot of 45 but don't want to go broke, then Silver Bear ammo is worth a try. For practice and range use, it's more than adequate, and the soft recoil will allow you to keep shooting all day.
