Description:
Details Manufactured under Federal's American Eagle brand, this product is brand new, brass-cased, boxer-primed, non-corrosive, and reloadable. It is a staple range and target practice ammunition. This is top of the line, American-made range ammo made by ATK (same company that makes Speer Lawman, CCI, Blazer Brass, etc) - it doesn't get any better. wistiaEmbed = Wistia.embed("p630d1wbdi", { version: "v1", videoWidth: 560, videoHeight: 315, volumeControl: true, controlsVisibleOnLoad: true, endVideoBehavior: "reset" }); Video Transcript: American Eagle is an ammo brand from Federal, part of the larger ATK family of ammo companies along with CCI, Blazer, and Speer. All of the ammo from the ATK companies is made in state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities right here in the United States. American Eagle has a reputation for being some of Federal's best practice ammo and it's also very affordable. For this review, we had a chance to shoot a few rounds of one of the American Eagle 45 ACP loads. The reloadable brass case cartridges hold a 230 grain copper jacketed bullet with a lead core. American Eagle in 45 is available with both small and large primers, and this load uses large primers. Most people won't notice any difference, but if you intend to reload your brass, just make sure to use large primer with these cases. Both the large and the small primer version are non-corrosive. We tried out this ammo with six different pistols to test function and performance. Every round fed and ejected with no issues in any of our guns. Recoil is pretty average for a 45 load and wasn't noticeably different from most other common practice loads. It was a bit of a handful in our compact lightweight Kahr CW45 pistol, but that's to be expected. In a full size gun, it's still a 45, but it's not too hard to handle. Because it is a full power load, it's a good self defense training round and shouldn't be too far from the recoil impulse of most hollow point ammo. We used a Springfield Armory XDM pistol to test accuracy from the bench at 15 yards. As with most American Eagle ammo we've reviewed, we got a decent group, especially for a value price plinking load. Most rounds landed right at the point of aim, with some going slightly high or slightly to the right within an inch or two. American Eagle is one of my personal favorite brands of ammo, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it for any range or practice applications.
