Details Polycase's Inceptor line was created to revolutionize the way we look at self defense ammunition. These unique rounds are made from a non-expanding injection molded metal and polymer blend. Instead of relying on a hollow point and expansion for knock down power, these projectiles use three large fins to transfer their energy laterally once they come in contact with a soft medium. Another distinctive characteristic of these projectiles is that when hitting a soft target you can expect to see around 16 inches of penetration with over 95% weight retention, but impact with hard targets results in fragmentation. These projectiles are light and fast, in 45 ACP you will see a 118 grain projectile exit the barrel a 1,307 feet per second! Polycase is an innovative injection molding company. Their goal is to produce polymer cased ammunition that is designed to be fired once and not be re-usable. While their polymer cases are not yet ready for commercial civilian use, the polymer blended projectiles are ready and they are currently being loaded into new production brass cases that are re-loadable. These projectiles are around 70% lighter than standard lead-copper rounds so they have flatter trajectories and less felt recoil.
