Description:
Sellier and Bellot has been producing cartridge ammunition since 1825. It has the reputation for being an established, high quality European manufacturer.
Sellier and Bellot products are used by hunters, competition shooters, law enforcement agencies and militaries around the world.
Sellier & Bellot ammo is made in the Czech Republic, which is a country with a strong history of firearm and ammunition production. When the Czechs found themselves on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain, this history led to them being the only Soviet satellite country allowed to develop an alternative to Russia's AK-47. Nowadays, S&B is owned by CBC, which also Magtech. Between these two companies, there are hundreds of years of experience in ammunition manufacturing. And that shows in their products, such as the S&B 12 gauge double-aught Buckshot I'm reviewing today.
S&B packages their shot shells in 10 round flat boxes. If you have a newer shotgun with a magazine capacity over five rounds, you'll probably appreciate this. I tested the S&B ammo in several different shotguns, including a semi auto, a break-action and a few pump-action shotguns.
I didn't encounter any functional issue. It had a decently tight pattern too, about the size of the human fist at nine yards or a hand with fingers spread at 15. All in all, this is affordable and reliable ammunition. It is well-suited for personal defense use.
