Description:
Sometimes when a really great rifle comes along, we will stock up and provide it for sale to our customers. This is a REALLY great rifle and I'm going to tell you why you need to buy one. RECEIVER-It is USA made. It has the indents on each side like the old SAR's that help stabilize the magazine from side to side movement so that the magazines fit very tightly with almost no play. The safety movement is crisp and sure and feels precise. It also has well made Russian style scope mounts firmly placed on the left side of the receiver. The rails are attached with several quality spot welds that are well done and not easily noticable. Rivets are well and tightly placed and are not impinging or denting the receiver. The mag catch is fixed with the traditional 4 rivets, but quality comes in the details. The pivot pin for the mag catch is smartly placed without a hammered look on the ends, just a nice concave press that shows the detail quality of this rifle. TRIGGER- Come with a TAPCO G2. 'nuff said. NO trigger slap in this rifle. FURNITURE- All black composite plastic stock, grip and forearms. Great quality here. When you pick this rifle up, it is tight. No slop or play in the lower forward handguard. The upper hand guard has a leaf spring in it to reduce play. Upper has a little play in it, but this helps remove it for field stripping and cleaning. The upper handguard release lever on the test model is VERY VERY stiff. You must use pliers or a wrench to turn it to remove the handguard. Some may think this is a defect, when it is in place it sure as H=LL is no going to lever out of place. Butt stock has a sling swivel. No place for a cleaning kit or oiler in the butt stock which would have been a nice feature, but still a solid plastic butt stock that is longer than most AK's which gives a better feel when shooting. (probably 2-3" longer than say a Romanian) Lower forearm fits are precise and when locked in, there is no play giving this rifle a tight quality feel. BARREL- is made in the USA and looks great. The rifling looks great. Accuracy is excellent which indicates a quality barrel. FLASH SUPRESSOR - This is a cool looking high quality Bulgarian type flash hider that you usually see on models that cost 3 times as much. It is not a cheap knock off, but it is the real deal and works with military precision. CLEANING ROD - It comes with one installed! Tight fit but easy to remove. FRONT SIGHT- Traditional AK front sight that you need a sight tool (we use TAPCO) if you want to easialy adjust the sights. Windage and elevation adjustment just as on all other AKs. REAR SIGHT- This is impressive. The rear sight is TIGHT! When you lift it, there is zero side to side play which aids in the excellent accruacy of this rifle. AND the rear sight is LEVEL!!! Some AKs have a rear sight that is canted to one side or the other. This one does not. It is amazingly level. LEVEL. wow. Adjustable from 100 to 1000 meters. MAGAZINES - This package comes with 2 magazines (5.45x39 mags) They are plastic with metal internals and load smooth as butter. I think they are slightly used but it is hard to tell, which, to me, is an advantage. NEVER store new magazines for SHTF without cleaning, deburring and shooting several fully loaded cycles to test the reliability of mags. When I shot this rifle, I used the stock mags as well as Romanian all metal mags and both functioned flawlessly. The fit for both types was very good. I like the composite mags better because the ammo loaded more easily and smoothly and the internal metal on the composite provided excellent function. The real value is the rifle itself. SLING - None comes with this package. But the rifle does have a swivel in the butt stock and a clip for the traditional AK sling in the front of the lower handguard so you can find a $5 AK sling at the next gun show. FUNCTION - Ahh the best part for me. I've have this business for 32 years and my favorite part is pulling a rifle at random from a couple of pallets full and going to the mountain fortress and trying to destroy the rifle. So, I grabbed a rifle, several different types of magazines, a 1080 case of russian 53gr and some Wolf 60gr and 70gr ammo and off I went. I sighted it in with Russian 53 gr and the TAPCO tool at 100 meters. After sighting in, the front sight is amazingly centered in the front sight! No canting of the front sight requiring a full left or right slide of the front sight! Even the Yugos aren't that good. I only used iron sights and I do not have a scope mount. I shot about a 4-5" group every time when I put it on paper at 100 meters. No doubt if I would buy some glasses, I could do better. Here is the amazing part. I shot slow fire, sandbag strings, I shot standing strings, I shot 30 rounds, "from the hip, fast as you can" strings with three types of ammo in two types of magazines. (Composites were black and brown in color, but no function difference.) I did spray lube the rifle to start and after several mags. I shot over 1000 rounds in that test rifle and NOT ONE FTFire, FTeject, FTfeed from the very first round to the end of the day! The action is very smooth when charging and you can just feel the quality when you shoot it. RECOIL - It's a 5.45x39! Little kids like this rifle because the felt recoil is very low compared to a 7.62! Surplus ammo is cheap and new non-corrosive ammo is available from Wolf. CONCLUSION - This rifle will not be available for ever. Word to the wise, buy several of them. The price/value ratio is the highest I have ever rated on any semiauto rifle. It is a smooth, accurate, and tight as our Arsenal at a third the cost. Buy em up. They are extremely reliable, and I am waiting for the first malfunction.
